Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) was invited by the Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) to hold a lecture on its mandate and executive regulations.
In the lecture, Nazaha presented its mandates and operational sectors. Participants were introduced to the works of the Financial Disclosure Sector, which receives “financial disclosure statements” by certain public officials. Details were provided on the process of submitting the statements and the penalties for late submission. The lecture also discussed the role of the Detection of Corruption and Investigation Sector and its role of receiving reports on corruption crimes, as well as the mechanisms in place to protect confidentiality and protect whistleblowers. In addition, the lecture highlighted the role of the Prevention Sector and its efforts to raise awareness of society, state institutions, and private sectors on the dangers of corruption and how to prevent it.
